The Kalasan elves are the hereditary descendants of the elves of Caligon, having migrated southwest to the island of Nalahi before they could succumb to the corruption that befell their brethren. Their largest city of Pagka resides both on the ground and in the tress above. Gayuta is a second, smaller city located on the forested Gayuta Peninsula. Aside from these two centers of population, the Kalasan gather in small villages that easily meld into the surrounding forest.

Fearful of retribution from the vileness they left behind and distrustful of the other races, the Kalasan elves quickly adapted a long standing policy of isolationism. There are no historical records indicating any attempts by the elves to parley with their neighbors. Visitors to their realm are unanimously rebuffed; rejection ranges from stern warnings at the tip of a sword to simply being killed on sight. Even those fortunate to receive a warning are never gifted with a second.

Kalasan Race Traits

Ancestral Distrust The events that motivated your people to flee Caligon have not been forgotten. Perhaps you witnessed the depraved acts of magic yourself or your parents have instilled their own remorse upon you. Either way, you are suspicious of other elves. You receive a +2 trait bonus to bluff and sense motive checks against non-Kalasan elves.

Forest Stride: You move between the trees of Nalahi with ease and while within forested terrain, you can move through natural difficult terrain at your normal speed. Magically altered terrain affects you normally.
